eBay auctioner actually expected $750 for Halo 3?

Remember how, earlier, we reported that Microsoft had announced a new HD-DVD Drive for the Xbox 360? Yeah… not so much, apparently.
Gizmodo is reporting that Microsoft has told them that the information pointing to a new HD-DVD drive in 2008 is actually a misquote, and that there is NO plans to release a new drive.
