You know, the first time I played Soldier of Fortune, I was about sixteen. I don’t remember much about the story, and I didn’t particularly care for online play. All I really remember is that I thought being able to blow off limbs with a shotgun was really cool. Sure, that feature was considered controversial, […]

I don’t know how Rockstar did it, but they found a way to make the Wii manly. In what I can only assume is celebration for beating the ESRB (after a long fight) and finally getting Manhunt 2 knocked down to a M rating, Rockstar Games and the Radio Rebellion Tour are co-sponsoring a giveaway […]

After almost 5,000 years of civilized culture (preceded by 25,000 years of hunter-gatherer triflings), the island of Nihon-koku — ‘Japan’ to you lazy round-eyes — may soon sink into the ocean or be horribly destroyed by some kind of hellish firestorm.
Recent Japanese sales records are out and in accordance with ancient harbingers of doom prophecy, […]

What you’re about to watch is simply the most amazing and luckiest throw in Halo 3 you will ever witness. I don’t want to say anything else aside that your jaw will drop in disbelief.
Whoever thought about incorporating the save film feature into Halo 3 should be given a cookie and a pat on the […]

I just made up a word to describe this week’s PSN update: mehtastic. I already trade marked it, so don’t even try and steal it. Seriously though, this week’s update is far from stellar.
The game Go! Sports Ski has been released for $2.99. It’s a skiing game that utilizes the SIXAXIS controller. It will more […]

It’s not really surprising that, following my early post about VGMWatch, the site’s David Gornoski would get back to me with a response - which I’ve agreed to print. And it’s extremely interesting, to say the least.
So I’m not going to tip my hand - and I think it’s important not to get too […]

You aren’t supposed to get it, it’s art: Gridrunner++ coming to XBLA

Jeff Minter — creator of as-often-lauded-as-decried XBLA synaethesia-shooter Space Giraffe — has announced his next project: Gridrunner++, a remake of a remake of a Vic 20 title he created on stone tablets using chisels and kindly, wise-cracking birds. Of course, as per Minter’s usual style, the game will almost certainly feature psychadelic animals, prismatic color […]

When you consider that the Wii is a right to print money, it’s no surprise that Nintendo’s stock hit a record high today. The surge was spurred when Goldman Sachs gave Nintendo a “buy” rating. Reuters reports. The effect of this rating? Nintendo’s stock rose to 64,800 before closing at 64,300, a 2.7% increase.
Goldman Sachs […]

Phoenix Wright is in your memes, jumping your sharks

Look, I found the first ten thousand Lolcat images as funny as everybody else did, but there comes a time to draw a line, and I think Capcom has proven it. The Internet meme has already been assimilated into the Halo 3 hype machine, but Capcom feels that its Phoenix Wright series can exploit the […]
