The DOJO began the week in a horrible way with Friends Codes. Just hearing those words brings a shiver down my spine. Anyway, you need to enter your friend’s Code once and it’s stored in the system. You can also have little status messages that only your friends can see. So call them a sh*t […]

Gonna cross-post this one briefly from Gamasutra, not least because I owe a debt of gratitude to new GameSetWatch columnist Chris Dahlen for discussing Weisman’s new venture with me and therefore helping me stumble across this rather unpublicized announcement. Also - really looking forward to see what these smart folks cook up:
“FASA, WizKids and […]

Not the classic RPG type? Maybe some […]

You know, it seems like only yesterday that I’d finally been given hope that Nintendo had decided not to keep screwing people over in the European territories. Well, looks like the Big N isn’t quite finished stomping on the Eurotrash and giving us a nice, hard kick in the teeth. If you were hoping for […]

COLUMN: ‘The Aberrant Gamer’: Playing The Hero

[The Aberrant Gamer is a weekly, somewhat NSFW column by Leigh Alexander, dedicated to the kinks and quirks we gamers tend to keep under our hats – those predilections and peccadilloes less commonly discussed in conventional media.]
If creating motivation in gameplay were a simple matter, designers would be all set. As it is, there are […]

The Backyard Messiahz are back, yo! In this latest skit from Mega64 for their second SpikeTV VGA ad, Kingg With a K defends BioShock as he fights Parlament who’s defending The Orange Box. The fight looks like Parlament is going to win with his knife and cake but then Kingg With A K unleashes the […]

Now that consumers can access the Playstation Store without even touching a PS3, Sony has decided to take the next logical step and cut the computer out of the picture. Sony is also working on an iTunes like syncing funtionality for the PSP and Mac support will be forthcoming.
