Game auction blog gameSniped features several gaming collector item auctions in a recent post, but the highlight is a prototype controller for the unreleased (duh) SNES CD development kit. For the reasonable price of $2,999, you can nab a useless piece of gaming history! As of New Year’s Eve morning, 28 offers have been submitted. I’m offering a […]

According to Nintendo’s official press release, "you’ve got some outrageous new options" for New Year’s Eve. For your sake, I certainly hope that none of your options are playing Virtual Console games by yourself this evening. Over at Bill Bishop’s ‘billsdue’ blog, the Beijing-based head of Chinese online world creator Red Mushroom has been pointing out a fascinating Chinese MMO-related news story, involving a tabloid newspaper, NYSE-traded online game firm Giant Online, and an apparently spiked story.

I’m a blasphemer, I suppose. Everyone was telling me of how bad of a raging clue they’ve suffered towards Portal. Thing is, I had owned The Orange Box for three months before finally playing through Portal about two weeks ago. It wasn’t until then that I finally understood the whole Weighted Companion Cube phenomenon. Granted, […]

Games of the week for 12/30/07: Screw Call of Duty 4 on Veteran edition

Seriously, who was the crackhead who decided that Veteran mode was even remotely fun to play? It’s not even worth completing the levels for 40 gamerpoints a pop. In fact, I’d rather cut out my own eyes and shove them up my arse, that is what I’d rather do. You see what I did there? […]

[Just wanted to repost this, in the quiet time before New Year, for the benefit of game developers who read GameSetWatch and haven’t voted yet. The nomination deadline cutoff is around January 4th, I believe.]
Nominations are now being accepted for the 2008 Game Developers Choice Awards, the eighth annual presentation of the most prestigious […]
