I’ve been enjoying Dragon Quest Monsters: Joker on my DS recently and thinking that the series is near perfect in my eyes, especially in the last few incarnations. I love the art style, story and characters, but the monsters take the cake for me. I never get tired of hearing the sounds, and by carrying those familiar snippets faithfully forward from the Dragon Warrior titles, I feel this series has blended the old and the new to great success.
The Japanese Dragon Quest V site is freshly launched, and looks fairly simple for now, but should be worth keeping an eye on. It hits Japan in spring of the next year and should see American shores soon after. In the meantime, I’m going to papercraft a dracky for my desk so I can enjoy his vacant smile 24-7.
[Thanks Justin!]
