Readers of my age will have hopefully grown up with the golden era of Nickelodeon cartoons. The likes of Ren $ Stimpy, Rocko’s Modern Life and Aah! Real Monsters were a subversive and edgy break from the safe, cuddly cartoons that made up the norm. Now we can relive our childhoods as two iconic characters return — in game form.
Nicktoons: Attack of the Toybots is a new game that unites some of Nickelodeon’s most popular characters such as Jimmy Neutron and Spongebob Squarepants in a plot that sees them working together to save the world. Although we cynics have little interest in such shadows of the glory days, what will excite is us the prospect of Rocko and Stimpy appearing as unlockable characters.
