It seems rumors are running rampant today of the delay of the much anticipated sequel to 2005’s successful sandbox game, Mercenaries: Playground of Destruction.
The rumor spread quickly after an unsourced article on Computers and Video Games reported that Mercenaries 2: World in Flames has slipped from a release of this fall until April 2008.
It’s always painful to watch as a game you were really looking forward to gets delayed, but with the stellar line up that is still slated for this year, this delay might not be a bad thing, as it will now free up some more time for all the other games that will be dumped on our doorsteps in the coming months. Still, with co-op games remaining a minority in the games marketplace, having one of the biggest co-op games slip into next year is quite unfortunate.
