Good fan made games come from a pure, unadulterated love of their source material. Some may be a bit hard to play due to either bugs or bad design, but as long as they have heart they’ll be worth the price of admission (free). Questionale storyline aside, Super Mario Fusion: Mushroom Kingdom Hearts has more heart than any fan made game I’ve played in a while, and I have played me a few in that last couple of months.
First spotted in video form by our own MadNinja and then subsequently added to that week’s Weekend Destructainment, Super Mario Fusion is a work in progress made with the free game design program Game Maker 7. The game currently consists of eight levels; six in the traditional Mario vein, one Mega Man themed, and one Halo themed. It’s hard not to love the game based on it’s concept alone.
