Whether you agree with Michael Pachter or not, the industry analyst believes that the PlayStation 3 is the reason that Take-Two/Rockstar has delayed GTA IV. The publisher is struggling to develop for Sony’s Cell Processor, and thus a delay of 6 months or more has occurred for the PS3 and the Xbox 360. It’s kind of like blaming the whole classroom, isn’t it? Xbox 360 gamers have to wait even longer now just because the PlayStation 3 is hard to develop for.
“We think it is likely that the Rockstar team had difficulty in building an exceptionally complicated game for the PS3, and failed to recognise how far away from completion the game truly was until recently,” said Pachter.
