The film adaptation of Prince of Persia has finally gotten a release date of July 10th, 2009. As of right now, that seems appropriate, considering the film is supposed to be a summer blockbuster, but has yet to get any actors or a director. As of now, it has been rumored that Michael Bay would direct the film, but that's just rumors.
The film has been sitting around for a while — it's been mentioned back in my original "Upcoming video game movies" post. Quoth IGN:
The Prince of Persia movie has been in development at Walt Disney Pictures since 2004, with the game's creator Jordan Mechner having penned a script with screenwriter John August supervising.
