Yesterday’s Sonic Unleashed screen leak was the subject of much back and forth, legit/fake speculation, to the point where I gave up and stopped trying to edit the post to reflect the truth. They say a picture’s worth a thousand words, but a video appaears to be far less controvertible proof of Sonic Unleashed’s new look (or rather, pleasingly old look) hedgehog.
If this is indeed genuine (and until 100% confirmed by Sega, I’ll err on the side of caution just in case) then what we’re seeing is Sonic in 2.5D. Just yesterday, Destructoid posted an article called How to save Sonic the Hedgehog where we suggested a similar move, and it seems Sonic Team was actually working on one of the points.
