If you you’re interested in the upcoming Star Trek MMO, Star Trek Online, no fear! Here’s some highlights have come out since this weekend:
1. The game is set in 2409, about 30 years after Star Trek Nemesis, the 10th Star Trek film. It’s kind of odd that they set it in a timeline where most of our favorite Star Trek characters from Next Generation/Voyager/DS9 are dead, but whatever. The state of the galaxy has changed a bit with the Federation again fighting the Klingons.
2. The game will absolutly honor the “canon” of the Star Trek television series and films, but will also take inspiration from outside like books, comics, and whatever else that isn’t considered true canon.
3. You don’t need a top of the line PC to play. I’m still betting my old beast still won’t be enough. Sigh.
